L’Or et l’Ombre
Art-Song Recital
Zoe Nicolaidou | soprano
Nicolas Costantinou | piano
Wednesday, 8:00 pm, 25 November 2015, Technopolis 20, Pafos
Saturday, 7:30 pm, 28 November 2015, Pallas, Lefkosia
Ledra Music Soloists presents renowned Cypriot
artists Zoe Nicolaidou and Nicolas Costantinou in a unique Art-Song recital.
The artists will present, for the first time in Cyprus, the song cycle L’Or et l’ombre by Cypriot composer
Constantinos Stylianou which deals with the experience of love: an accidental
acquaintance leads to an erotic idyll that is abruptly interrupted by death,
followed by mourning and eventually
leading to new
hope. The recital concludes with a series of works written in France during the
so-called Belle Époque enriched with
the folkloric musical traditions of both Greece and Spain.
